Zagora
In the south eastern region of Morocco is Zagora, located in the valley of the Draa River. The town derived its name from the nearby Zagora mountain. This young town was built in the 20th century.
Remains of the Almoravid fortress is located at the top of the Zagora mountain. The Sufi St. Moulay Abdelkader Jilali festival is celebrated annually in Zagora.
A landmark sign at the border of this town says "Tombouctou 52 days", referring to the time it takes to get there by foot or camel.
